Max Schillinger
Linux pro, workflow optimizer, coder for life.
I develop software, both at work and in my free time. I mostly write C, Python and bash/POSIX shell code and I contribute to open source projects whenever I find some time. In general I prefer non-bloated software (=small, efficient, few dependencies) and a keyboard-only workflow (of course, there are always compromises). My main software stack: Linux, dwm, st, tmux, fish, Neovim, Firefox (+Surfingkeys).
In 2011, I started a career at Daimler/Mercedes Benz, with my last position in System Integration and Testing in the Autonomous Driving department. In 2022, I moved to Bosch as a software engineer (deterministic recompute of autonomous driving software). When I had the chance to get a severance pay in 2024, I left the company for having more time with my little kids and for developing software on my own.
I was born in 1983. Currently, I live in Stuttgart. In my spare time, I play with my kids, develop software or learn new stuff. Apart from that, I like running, cooking with my wife or having some beer with friends.
